Cookie Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how CodeWalkers uses cookies and similar technologies on codewalkers.com. Cloudflare reports the visitor country (CF-IPCountry / request.cf.country). That country picks one of two consent regimes: US and the rest of the world, or the EU, EEA, and UK. If the country is missing or unknown, we use the US/rest rules.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. Local storage is a similar technology that allows websites to store data in your browser. Both are used to remember preferences and improve your experience.

Cookies and Storage We Use

Strictly Necessary

These are required for the site to function and cannot be disabled.

Name Type Purpose Duration
colorTheme localStorage Stores your light/dark mode preference Persistent
cw-cookie-consent localStorage Records your cookie consent choice 365 days
cw-consent-region cookie Stores the consent regime for this visit (us or eu) from the Cloudflare country code 1 day

Analytics

We use Clicky (site ID 101470739, script from static.getclicky.com) for aggregate page views and referrals. Visitor privacy is on. Clicky sets no tracking cookies. It still receives the page URL, referrer, browser and operating system, and an anonymized IP address. We do not use advertising cookies. Google Analytics uses measurement ID G-JJNZHCFWEH and one Google tag. See Clicky's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.

US and the Rest of the World

The banner offers Accept All and Necessary Only. There is no Decline button. Clicky loads on every visit. Google Analytics loads after Accept All or Necessary Only.

EU, EEA, and UK

The banner offers Accept All, Necessary Only, and Decline. Decline uses the same button style as Accept All. Accept All loads Clicky and Google Analytics. Necessary Only loads Clicky and leaves Google Analytics off. Decline loads neither.

Advertising

We do not use advertising cookies or participate in ad networks.

Third-Party Cookies

Our site is served through Cloudflare, which may set cookies for security and performance purposes (e.g., bot detection). These are classified as strictly necessary. See Cloudflare's Cookie Policy for details.

Managing Your Preferences

You can manage cookies and local storage through:

  • Our consent banner — in the US and the rest of the world, choose Accept All or Necessary Only. In the EU, EEA, and UK, Decline is offered with the same prominence as Accept All
  • Browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See your browser's help documentation for instructions.
  • Clear local storage — in your browser's developer tools (F12), go to Application > Local Storage to view and clear stored data

Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control

We honor Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. GPC stores the same declined choice as Decline. In the EU, EEA, and UK that means no Clicky and no Google Analytics. In the US and the rest of the world, Google Analytics stays off and Clicky still loads on every visit.

Changes to This Policy

We will update this page if our cookie usage changes. Check the "Last updated" date at the top for the most recent version.
