What Is CodeWalkers?

CodeWalkers is a developer publication on AI coding tools and programming. We publish practical guides, comparisons, and developer news so you can pick a tool, learn a language, or check what changed this week.

What We Cover

The site sits on a few hubs you can open from the homepage or Start Here.

AI coding tools. Setup, reviews, and head-to-heads for editors and harnesses such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, and OpenCode. The question is which tool fits which job on a weekday, including local and cloud options when the docs support them. Start at AI coding tools.

Programming. Language and stack guides for people who still need the fundamentals under the agents: Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Go, Rust, SQL, PHP, Swift, HTML and CSS, and related paths. Agents do not replace knowing how a query fails or why a build broke. Start at Programming.

Guides and reviews are meant to survive a weekday install. When a claim needs a primary source, we point at the official docs or changelog instead of inventing a number.

History

CodeWalkers originally launched in January 2002 as a coding how-to site. The posts were language tutorials and short notes on databases and servers. You could knock one out on a lunch break, then fix the error on your machine.

In 2026 the publication relaunched around AI-assisted development. We still publish guides on what runs on your machine, what the docs say, and whether an install still works on a weekday. Coverage now includes AI coding tools, vibe-coding workflows, AI code review, and developer news.
